The Sealing of the Rift
5th Day of the 10th Month of the Year 310.

Moloch has been defeated. The rift that held us in thrall for so long has been closed. Our lives, once again, retreat to the sanctity of daily life. Of the many from every religion who accompanied Medares, three did not return: Medares the Usil Elf, Geos Runemaker the Secian and Grath the Fir Elf. Their souls have been lost for what may be eternity in a place we can only speculate.

Inside the rift, non-Molochian clerics found that they could not heal the wounded through lay hands. Healers relied on spells. Spurians fought side-by-side against pale green robed monks and Molochian fire mages. Banshees rose from the fallen pale green robed monks, their wails piercing the area. Pale green armored fighters swarmed, and Chasdity Rokhart was the first to die, then Grath Longfletch. Lastly, but sometime later during the fighting, Jortow Milthrilham died within the foreboding plane of existence.

There were sobs and screams as people scrambled for a healing. Dragons growled and clawed. Others barked orders to keep fighting on the offensive. Most everyone fought courageously, and some preferred to stand back and clean up the loot for themselves. Chasdity and Jortow's lifeless bodies were dragged to safety by Audra Romaine and Tellurian Littal, respectively.

What happened to Geos Runemaker? Rynock had been possessed before and had been warned not to come but had insisted upon it. Medares spoke to Rynock, "Fool, get out now." Rynock was struck down by Moloch, and died instantly on the spot. The group waited on Rynock's return. Finally, Rynock appeared. Medares quickly dragged him out of Moloch's plane. Medares confided, "I cannot keep this rift open much longer and I must still heal the rift. Rynock may have damned us all. If ye wish to leave now, I will not think ill of ye." It was at that point, during the confusion over Rynock, that Geos Runemaker disappeared from the group unnoticed.

As some had previously thought, Geos did not join Medares by his side to help seal the rift. In fact, it appears that Geos Runemaker disappeared while Medares was distracted with dragging Rynock out of Moloch's plane.

There are some questions that beg to be answered, though the answers may remain a mystery. Perhaps the most intriguing one: Is it possible that Moloch used Rynock (who was previously possessed and could be easily manipulated) as a distraction so that he could snatch Geos away when others had turned their attention elsewhere? Moloch had spoken chilling words, "Ah, I sense Secians...you have brought me prizes beyond compare." Perhaps Moloch helped himself.

Or did Geos hide and wait until everyone else had followed Athyn out of the rift, and only then accompany Medares? If the latter was the case, why would he sneak away....and wouldn't someone notice him slip into the shadows? Not a single person noticed Geos disappear. One moment he was there, the next he was gone. No one noticed him leave and run elsewhere, or he would have been called back, or chased. Surely, if he had announced he planned to stay with Medares, he would have been stopped. After all, he had his Chosen to think about. If he did accompany Medares, did he think he could close the rift if Medares couldn't? Most likely, he wouldn't even know where to begin.

Geos Runemaker was chosen to Allon Prog the Drake.
