The Golden Statue

When the war between magic was taking place, there was another event occurring almost simultaneously, maybe not as earth shattering to most of us certainly as Sa and Aiena battling in the skies but to the people who follow the God Odarous, it was nonetheless upsetting.

Priests had come running into the Town Square when the battle in the skies was first taking place, frantic over the loss of one of their treasures, a statue that once stood just south of the double doors inside the Odarian temple. But they did not find it, nor the person or persons responsible for taking it.

One thing I do not think is known to many of you is that this statue of lovely workmanship, of the great Odarous himself, is crafted supposedly from pure gold. Yes, PURE GOLD, and it was taken during this battle and has not apparently been seen since.

The amusing statue that was left for a brief time I shall recount for you here. In the center of the room south from the doors stood a pallid statue of a scrawny freckle-faced human clad in dented tin armor. He was holding an albatross-emblazoned garbage can lid for a shield in one hand and had a crude wooden stick for a sword in the other. He also was standing defiantly over the fallen corpse of what else? But a practice dummy. Drawn in chalk on the boys back was a caricature of a snickering vulture.

The Odarians that first came upon this pathetic but amusing statue left in the place of the pure gold one got down to business almost immediately, praying to their God to remove this silly and mocking tribute to their God. For once and promptly I might add, he listened and the statue soon vanished.

It appears the real statue, the solid gold one is still somewhere in the lands just waiting to be found and returned. But will it get found before it is forged? Is anyone even looking for this lost golden treasure? Rev could not be reached for comment.
