Interview with Kyntavis
Leyara

Several days ago, I was able to corner the Sanene, Kyntavis in the as yet, unfilled Inquisitor's office. He was dressed in gray tweed trousers, a black vest emblazoned with a vulture,  he was wearing an onyx hoop earring, and some blood stained onyx spiked gloves. two rings; a bleached vertebra ring and the other a twisted onyx ring of demonic souls. Quite a fashion statement if I do say so myself. I began the interview by asking him to tell me a little about himself.

K.O: I'm Kyntavis Onyx, a Servant under Taath Triumphant... I hate the term 'Hand Cleric', I prefer 'Instrument'

A.T: Have you always referred to yourself as an instrument?

K.O: My body was trained and honed to perfection under his Temple, where I was raised.  Tuned, like an Instrument.  It's a belief I've followed for a very long time.  A musical instrument, if you will.  My fists work percussion's, we bring on the song of Agony.

A.T: How long have you been in Spur now?

K.O: Not very long, I'll not deny the fact that I am new to this city and ripe from my training.

A.T: What do you think of Spur?

K.O: I find it an interesting place, full of potential and ripe of activity.  It can keep a Servant such as myself very very... busy.

A.T: Busy doing what exactly?

K.O: Let's leave it at there's ample opportunity for a Cleric of Taath to work his service.

A.T: OK then how do you normally spend your days? What is a day of your life typically like?

K.O: It varies from day to day.  Some days are spent finding suitable donations, some days are spent tuning myself, perfecting my flaws.

K.O: I'll avoid specific details, some say I'm a wanted man.

A.T: You have been here such a short time and there are some out to get you? For what exactly?

K.O: What have I done to make myself such a hated and wanted man?

A.T: Yes...,Elaborate a bit if you will....

::with a smirk, he continued::

K.O: Simply put, everything I believe a Taathian Cleric should do.

K.O: Anyone can kill another, pain is merely an opening to a greater event.

A.T: So you feel you are only wanted because of your beliefs and your faith in your God?

K.O: As a Servant of Taath, one would have one goal, I would hope, and that is to Serve.

K.O: Different people, different methods.

K.O: Mine just seem to attract 'negative' attention ... when others should ask 'Is this what he wants?'  Manipulation is a far stronger tool than a simple beating.

A.T: But you crave the attraction, even if it is negative?

K.O: One would have to be resourceful.  Using what's around you to greater serve your goal is a gift of my race.  Using that gift is a service to God.

K.O: Let me clarify something, those that follower the other 'Gods', are merely branches beneath us.

K.O: Balor spoke of it during his Epitaph.

K.O: Odarous, Elindale, Rinanni, they are lower Servants under Taath Triumphant.

K.O: Their followers are not fit to wear the Taathian mark, so they serve us by giving us what we want.

A.T: Which is?

K.O: Every time an Odarian raises his sword, and leaps forward ... someone will be hurt.  If it is myself, or if it is him ... most likely him ... there is pain, there is bloodshed, and therefore, the Vulture smiles upon the battle.

K.O: Everytime an Elindalian heals another, the wounds are closed, waiting to be torn open again.

K.O: Rinanni hates those not natural ... as a San, I am not 'natural', so they hunt me.  A battle ensues, the thirst of Taath is quenched for the time being.

A.T: You have been hunted by Rinannians?

K.O: Oh, I've been threatened by a few.

A.T: Care to name names?

K.O: No.

K.O: I consider them offerings to my Lord, such actions are between me and Taath only.

K.O: Why ruin a dish before it is served?

A.T: I see your point, I think

A.T: OK, to go on to something else..

K.O: Don't worry, as a mere thief, I wouldn't expect you to comprehend the beliefs of a Servant.

A.T: Just because I am a mere thief, does not mean I am no less a servant than you.

K.O: Different people, different methods.

A.T: But all servants.

A.T: So as one servant to another

His frown at this moment told me he didn't like that one bit.

A.T: Explain what you know about the paintings being stolen from this Temple, etc...And your part in it

K.O: The Paintings, Kyntavis' Burst for Power, the Set Up, the Grand Heist, The Humiliation.

K.O: It has so many names, so many opinions.

K.O: I'll put it simply, The Paintings were stolen by those of a Setite mark, in regard to the Paintings.

K.O: In regard to 'Kyntavis' Burst for Power,' I call it a lesson, instead.

K.O: The majority of Taathians I've met in Spur forget a simple fact.

K.O: If there is pain, if there is agony, it does not matter where the source comes from.

A.T: What was your involvement in this all though?

K.O: I organized one of the biggest Taathian movements seen in Spur for some time.

K.O: I wanted to remind the Taathians that even if they are killed, or wounded, Taath would still be pleased.  We are mere fodder to his service.  Scraps of kindling to be thrown into the blaze.

K.O: Self improvement is an ugly thing.

K.O: Self destruction, is a way of life.

A.T: So you gathered a group of Taathians together and headed to the temple of Set?

K.O: No, we merely slaughtered any Setite in sight.

K.O: And any that would try to oppose us.

K.O: Paintings are material possessions, they are a depiction of past Inquisitors, not the Inquisitors themselves.

A.T: How many did you injure or kill?

K.O: Who can remember, blood is red, and it mixes with others.

A.T: Do you remember any of their names?

K.O: Its been so long...

K.O: Names hold no value.

A.T: Sometimes they do.

K.O: In all honesty, I can't remember.  I remember the screams, however.

A.T: And what happened afterwards?

K.O: I doubt they had an opportunity to introduce themselves when they were getting torn apart.

K.O: Afterwards I was approached by ... possibly five to eight Setites, who knocked me unconscious and took a simple leather vest from me.

K.O: The result of that was proof of the idiocy within Temple Taath.  They thought that stealing an item...a mere garment, was a grand humiliation to a Servant.

K.O: So, I walked around wearing nothing for a while... a Servant needs only what his God has granted him.

A.T: Did you ever get this vest returned to you?

K.O: Sarithiya has it.

He made it clear he preferred his black vulture emblazoned leather vest much more.

K.O: I've found one more to my liking.

A.T: How did Sarithiya end up with it?

K.O: Either as a gift, or she killed a Setite, I couldn't care less.

A.T: Why do you have such a great hatred for honorable Leuians?

K.O: Hatred is such a simple word.

K.O: They have a hatred for me.

K.O: I prefer to call them my Furry Puppets.

K.O: Everything...and I mean-everything-that they have done, is exactly what I wanted them to.

K.O: I've exposed two Leuians are frauds and false to their words.

K.O: They screamed that they would never flee, and both did.

K.O: One took Pride vows, and then I found proof that she had a bastard child.

A.T: Names?

K.O: Ambrose and Purrl.

K.O: Also, Mel, threatened to 'kill me over and over until I handed back the rug.

K.O: Spoken like a true follower of Elindale.

K.O: Or Rinanni...who can remember.

K.O: Nonetheless, they acted more like wannabe Taathians, trying to actually do me harm.

A.T: You were battling Ambrose and he fled for his life?

K.O: I battled Purrl, she fled.  I've let Ambrose kill me without even raising a fist of defense or attack.  If he seeks honor, it was a pitiful 'victory...' I would call it a display of his ignorance, more than a victory.

K.O: Ambrose fled twice, when near death.

K.O: The motto is no longer 'Honor through Battle', it's 'Honor when you can WIN... Humiliation and Hypocrisy When You Cannot.

K.O: Let them come for me, let them inflict more pain.  I writhe in pleasure under it.

A.T: First things first, what was the point in letting Ambrose take your life? What caused the strife between you two to begin with?

K.O: Hrm... oh yes, I killed a Leuian.

K.O: Even though the Leuian challenged me, he didn't even flee.  I, even, was quite impressed.

K.O: Tchori was his name, I can honestly say he follows his vows.  I lacked enjoyment of letting him die that way.

K.O: It's more fun humiliating them when they flee.

K.O: So, already half dead, Ambrose marched me away to the fields.

K.O: And again, he started to attack...so, instead of turning a fist to him, I punched Purrl twice, right in her pug nose, and left.

A.T: And why did Tchori challenge you?

K.O: He threatened to kill a Servant of Taath...

K.O: I do not attempt to follow Honor.

K.O: Honor is a joke to me and my beliefs.  I'll gladly run, I'll gladly use every trick in the book to ensure my victory.

A.T: So then Ambrose came across you two and got involved then?

K.O: Yes.

K.O: The second time he attacked me, I even said "Go on, embrace your fury...attempt to be the Taathian you can never be.

K.O: I was already half dead when he approached me.

A.T: From battling Tchori?

K.O: No, for killing an Eagle. I killed an eagle, for one of them killing a vulture.

K.O: They let their emotions get the best of them, it's quite funny.

K.O: Let me say another thing.

K.O: After Purrl ran from me nearly killing her, and getting Bags, Bane, and Gide to back her up against me... Ambrose dragged me away..

K.O: And Purrl followed.

K.O: They said it would be just me and her.

K.O: To the death.

K.O: Well, as soon as Purrl came close to dying, Ambrose appeared again, and came forward to try and hit me.

A.T: Shameful

K.O: So, I slipped into the shadows, Rylek, Foom, and Rytul came.. and then we killed Purrl, and Gide....and then nearly killed Ambrose twice.

K.O: He ran yelping like a dog.

K.O: Sarithiya knows about it, I was resting near her bloodied and near exhaustion.

K.O: It was delicious ... it took the cleaners a week to get the blood out of my trousers.

K.O: No, even if Ambrose killed me for nearly killing Purrl, I would still be satisfied.

K.O: He broke his word...again, by approaching me with the intent of killing her.

A.T: Did you summon for the other Sanene or were they walking by?

K.O: Rylek saw me fighting Purrl, Gide, and Bane.

K.O: I will never agree to any alliance with the Setites ... but I see no harm in keeping my nose clean of them if they're enjoying themselves on my enemies.

A.T: Now onto Purrl, How did you know her unborn Khit was fatherless?

K.O: She told me.

K.O: She said she would kill me herself, while surrounded by ten other Leuians ... funny how they only talk big after being surrounded by their own kind ... that she would kill me again and again if she was not with child.

A.T: But that didn't imply she had no Khat'sara did it? Or was there more?

K.O: Someone told me she had no Khat'sara. I forget who...but nonetheless, she didn't. They sleep about like rabbits.

A.T: Now about this rug you have in your possession.

K.O: Another display of Leuian idiocy.

K.O: He does not let us hold it! And does not give it away freely! It MUST be fake!

K.O: Even the Setites stood up and defended me on the issue.

K.O: The Leuians would take the rug and destroy it, I'm not nearly that stupid.

A.T: Out of all the Leuians who had such a hard time with it, who had the biggest problem do you think?

K.O: I wouldn't really know.  Purrl, maybe Mel. I couldn't care less, they gave me what I wanted.

A.T: Purrl threatened you over it didn't she?

K.O: Yes.

A.T: Did she say she would hunt you down until it was in her hands?

Here Kyntavis glanced over his shoulder at the vulture on the rug and muttered quietly.

K.O: Something to that extent, yes.

K.O: Let me get this clear, everything I say, everything I reveal, I have no problem with it becoming public information.

A.T: Did she threaten to get every member of the Pride involved in this hunt?

K.O: She brought a whole horde of the furry whores.

K.O: They need ten of their own kind behind them to feel any degree of security or power.

K.O: They'll kill me 'honorably', or, if they fail, the other nine will gang up on me at once.

A.T: So they came after you then?

K.O: Yes.

A.T: And what happened?

K.O: As I have said time and time again, they threatened me.

K.O: One of them cast a spell on me which sent me away ... he gave me an escape, I thought it quite humorous.

A.T: So the soul purpose of you buying this rug was just to infuriate them?

K.O: I am not complaining that they threatened me, I instead find it quite funny.

K.O: No, it was to be covered with the horrible stench of them.

K.O: Of course, it was to infuriate them.  Gold well spent.

A.T: What are your plans for the rug now? Or is it a secret?

K.O: The future is never certain, so I will never disclose on it.

A.T: Can I then get your comments on the current ppenings now? The trip to Saldaea some Spurians took, the Arachnians, the Lord, Malzor, the barrier in the Clocktower....?

K.O: Personally, I couldn't care less... I haven't involved myself in such issues.

K.O: It all seems like a common enemy against the people of Spur.

K.O: And I will never fight alongside an Odarian to save this city.

K.O: The City means nothing, walls mean nothing, possessions mean nothing.  If it even begins to threaten my Service, then I will become involved.

A.T: If you knew of a way to get past the barrier, even if it meant possibly you could not return again, would you go?

K.O: And what, save Spur?

A.T: No, just to go and see what was happening.

K.O: I'm having too grand a time here, I keep myself busy, and I have many opportunities to continue my service.  Why would I want to?  My plate is full enough.

A.T: Now you say that possessions mean nothing but yet you have a good set of armor, some unusual gloves, unique rings and such...Why?

K.O: The gloves are spiked, they puncture flesh ... imagine a sacrifice used without dagger.

A.T: Of course..silly me...

K.O: Imagine holding your sacrifice's ruined insides in your hands, puncturing their gut with your own hands.

K.O: All these items can be replaced.

A.T: What do you think of Laston? Would you willingly follow him if he became the next Inquisitor?

A.T: Since he seems to consider himself an Honorable Leuian.

K.O: Laston is also a Cleric, his life is devoted to serving Taath Triumphant as mine is.

K.O: That being said, I have no say in who the next Inquisitor will be.

K.O: The next Inquisitor will not be voted by the public, he will be named by Taath.  I will follow the next Inquisitor under his blessing by Him.

A.T: But he is Leuian and honorable, and you hate that...

K.O: He does not follow the same kind of 'honor' that the Pride Leuians do.

K.O: Honor through Serving.  Honor through Ruin, Honor through Pain and Destruction.  That is merely my own opinion of him.

K.O: I have no friends, merely accomplices, do not expect me to spout prose about anyone.

A.T: Do you wish to be the next Inquisitor?

K.O: I wish to continue my Service, and to be where Taath wills me to be.

K.O: If that is to be Inquisitor, it is not up to me... I will accept all charges of Taath Triumphant.

K.O: I'm a mere Instrument, ready to be played by the darkest musician.

A.T: So you have no long term goals then, whatever happens happens?

K.O: Oh, there are goals..there are always plans...

A.T: If Taath did bless you and make you the next leader of this temple, what would you do first or do you even know?

K.O: I know enough to not answer that question.

K.O: I wish to say a final word.

K.O: To those that wish to find me, and kill me ... two simple words.

With that the Sanene smiled easily, the wicked looking spikes on his gloves clacking together eerily and uttered softly... Bring it.
