Finally Jesse went to his new home!

HAPPY!!!
Happy is being fostered in Upstate New York

Happy is a deaf American Bulldog mix. He is approximately 18 months old and about 45 lbs. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped; housebroken and crate trained. He knows "sit", "down", "stay", "cookie", and is learning other hand signals. He chases lights, shadows, and his tail, but is not overly obsessive about it once you get his attention. He is super high-energy, and we haven't found his "off" button yet! We feel Happy would do best as an only pet. He is definitely cat aggressive. He loves to cuddle in your lap and give sweet kisses. He must go to a home with a fenced yard, as he loves to explore when outdoors and it is very difficult to get his attention when off-leash. Happy is available through Central NY Boxer Rescue/EBBRR; and you can find out about our rescue/adoption policies by visiting our petfinder site!

Email Sue if interested in Happy

RILEY-NY
AVAILABLE from Central NY Boxer Rescue Riley is a neutered male boxer about 22 months old. He is housebroken, crate-trained, on HW preventative, and up to date on all vaccines. Riley can be destructive due to a bad case of separation anxiety; therefore he needs to be crated when left alone, but the ideal home for him would be one in which someone is always there. Email Sue if you are interested in Riley.

Bubba has finally found his forever home!

Bubba is finally getting out of the kennel, and going to his new family! Bubba met his new sister Roxy and it was love at first sight. Bubba's new mom and dad, were wonderful and Roxy and Bub hit it off immediately. Thank you Danielle and Dustin for giving this big lug the home he deserved for so long.
Sincerely,
Michelle McDonald
Guardianambull@aol.com

Chance & Charli
This is a brother/sister pair who should not be separated. They need an active family that is knowledgeable about American Bulldogs. Chance has no issues but Charli is a little skittish around some men. They love to run and play, but they are pretty fond of lounging around the house too. They are crate trained, housebroken, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all shots. They are located in upstate NY.

Butkus is located in Baltimore, MD!
This cutie is a pit bull terrier, about 3.5 months old. We missed his original vet appointment, but he will be going back on Aug 26th for his neuter. Butkus is a very energetic pup, that is going to need a pit bull experienced home. He already is very persistant and pushy and he is still a baby! More info to come on Butkus soon.

Email Michelle and Erin if intersted!

Ebony
Ebony has FINALLY found her forever home and has been adopted!

Moses in Baltimore!!
8/04 Moses has finally been adopted. He lived with Denise and David Banning anlong with sister Phoebe who was also adopted from EBBRR!
7/04 *ADOPTION PENDING* Moses is in a foster home and they love him so much! After a trial period he will be staying forever if all goes well! Moses has a very sad story to tell. He is a true survivor at the young age of 6 months! Please read below for all the details. Moses will not be available for adoption until this summer, he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He will need a foster home until then. He will only be placed in the MD area, preferably in the Baltimore area. Three days before Easter Moses was a victim. His owners house was raided by the police and when the door was knocked down at 3 am Moses ran to the door barking. He was shot several times. He was brought to the vet for treatment but his owner could not afford it, he was slated for euthanasia. He was signed over to rescue and is now safe! He was shot at least 2 times. Once in the shoulder and once in the mouth. His jaw was shattered! A wonderful Vet placed 4 pins in his jaw to stabilize the fracture site. He is healing wonderfully! Moses is so happy to be alive, he holds his head high with pride and never stops wagging his tail. Did I mention he loves to give Kisses? When he was first brought to the vets office he was wagging his tail and giving kisses to all of the employees even with a shattered jaw and two bullets lodged in him! What a sweet heart, he loves to play with his toys and go for walks. He walks great on a leash and appears to be housebroken. He is still staying at the vets while he undergoes treatment for his bullet wounds. He doesn't mess in his kennel and is so quiet you wouldn't even know he's there. The pins in his jaw have to stay in place for at least 8 weeks if not longer. He will be available for adoption then. We are taking applications on him now. Moses is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. He walks like a gem on the leash and sticks to your side. He will follow you from room to room, just wanting to keep you in sight. This guy is a true snuggle bug and a real kisser! He is also crate trained with no aggression problems at all. He has been introduced to a few other dogs and just wants to play with them. He is interested in the cats and only wants to play with them. If you have a cat it must be dog friendly.. Moses will only be placed as either an only dog or a home with a female dog.. No exceptions. He will also not be placed with children under the age of 8 as he gets very excited and likes to jump. I cannot say enough good things about this boy! If interested in becoming a foster parent for Moses or are interested in learning more and possibly adopting please email us today!

Moses is available through Roberts Rescue/EBBRR; you can find out about our rescue/adoption policies by visiting our petfinder site!

Email Jayme if interested in adopting or fostering Moses

UPDATE!! ROSCOE WAS ADOPTED BY A REPORTER THAT WROTE A PIECE ON HIM! WAY TO GO ROSCOE! Roscoe needs help in Massachusetts!

Ok, good people, we need to raise funds to pay for Roscoe's medical bill. His surgeries have exceeded $1,000.00!! Here is his story..... Starting 9/9/03..........Michelle, Yesterday a pitbull in my city was hit by a motor vehicle. It took until 7:30 last night for the owner to call me. That is after chasing down info on him and repeatedly going to his house 4 times and speaking with the family, and being told, OH NO, He got rid of that dog to an old guy up the street. Nice huh. Needless to say, this dog's PREVIOUS owner was home when the dog got hit, and came out to help me rush him to the vets. I am an Animal Control Officer in the state of Massachusetts. This dog is just unbeleiveable. With all the pain, bruises and broken back leg, not once did he growl, bite or snap at us. He just laid there and let us help him. As of 10 AM this morning, the 19 yr old owner, surrendered him to me. We found a wonderful vet in Lancaster (Orthopedic), who was able to examine him this afternoon, and finding a fracture to his back leg, that only can be repaired by surgery (pins/screws and wires). The vet is giving us a great discount on the surgery because of the circumstances. As an Animal Control Officer for the city, I am NOT allowed to ask for donations, the Vet I work with for the City is going to handle that portion of this. We have started getting some feedback from people willing to make contributions, which is wonderful. The Vet is going to charge us $1000.00 for the surgery. We have checked this out and the surgery he is doing, would normally cost twice as much if not more at other Orthorpedic specialists Practices. If there is any help you could send our way, please let me know. This guy is so special, with all the pain he is in, all he wants to do is give kisses and keep his tail wagging. The Vet himself and the Techs couldnt believe how wonderful his disposition was with the pain he was in.

Update:9/12/03........Michelle,

Thank you for your email. As of late yesterday afternoon, the Orthopedic Vet I had mentioned, was able to perform the surgery. It was a bad fracture and it required pins/screws and wires to place it back together. If no complications from the surgery arise, he should be released tomorrow (Saturday). I'm very lucky in the fact that the Kennel I use is a private kennel (Carol Stacy owns it). So he wont have to go to a shelter, though we would like more for him to go to a Foster home. As of yesterday afternoon, we have 2, maybe 3 families interested in Fostering him, though I will find out more today. Any contributions that come in (being an ACO I am NOT allowed to take donations), Carol Stacy of Stacy's Kennels will be handling that. She is a very well known and respected person here in Fitchburg. She also owns Fitchburg Animal Clinic who was able to put me in contact with the Orthopedic Specialist in Lancaster. If time permits today, I am going to go visit him and get some pictures, if I cant, then tomorrow when we go to get him, we will take pictures of him and the WONDERFUL Vet and Techs that took care of him. We have a Reporter with The Worcester Telegram and Gazette that will be doing a story on him out here, (he has also requested to be a Foster Home). The before pics I wasnt able to get because of the urgency of him possibly losing his leg, we had to get this taken care of ASAP.
Update:9/12/03 Later that day..... Michelle,

I've got great news.... the Vet did the surgery late yesterday, Roscoe came thru with flying colors and guess what, he surprised everyone, and wanted to get out of there today. So we are ahead of the game. He's staying at the kennels right now with Carol Stacy, and hopefully we will have a foster home for him by Monday. I have pictures, pictures and more pictures, and will download them this weekend (after the wedding tomorrow). I am so proud of this guy, he's doing so good, just really hurtin an sore.... thank you again!
*************************
Ok, these great people need help paying the vet bill! Please send any donations to :Carol Stacy, c/o Stacy's Kennels, 939 High Rock Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420 *Make a note this is for Roscoe's Surgery!!!**

Thank you all for the compassion you share for these bully breeds, when something like this happens, it restores my faith in the world....now write those checks for Roscoe!

Thank you all,
Michelle McDonald and Sue Fitzgerald, Co-Founders of EBBRR

Meet Odon the Magnificent! Formally known as Inky Dink from NJ!

Just wanted to check in with an update on our dear Odon. This is his favorite... " Life is rough.. so many places to nap... so little time" photo. It is amazing to me that Odon came off the street. He is an absolute love and very very lucky to have found your organization. After some obedience training and a lot of love he now is completely at home with me, my husband, our cats, and any one else who wants to pet him. He even dresses up in a t-shirt and funny collar to help us raise money for the feral cats! He loves it. At our last event over 800 people stopped just to pet him! We are completely in love and forever in your debt. Hugs from us humans and puppy kisses from Odon.

She has been adopted! :)

Sara
Sara has been adopted!! Sara is a courtesy listing for Furry Friends Network in PA. Sara is in a shelter and her time is running out FAST! Please Hurry if you can save this sweet girl!
Hi, my name is Sara. I am a lovable American Staffordshire Terrier (some call me a Pit Bull). Despite the bad rap that my breed gets, I love people and would make a wonderful companion for your family. I was dumped off by some irresponsible human who failed to get me spayed, and I was taken to the shelter. I was hungry, homeless and worst of all pregnant. Luckily, a nice family offered me a place to stay because I never would have made it out of that shelter alive. I heard them talking about me.... Anyway, last Saturday (10/18) I gave birth to 9 beautiful babies (7 males and 2 females). They are all doing well and growing each day. I love my babies, don't get me wrong, but I will be thrilled when they are old enough to eat on their own. I have been told that I won't have to go through this again, thank goodness. I will be spayed and have all current vaccinations prior to adoption. I like all of the attention and love I can get, so I will need to be the only animal in the family. I LOVE children and would do great in a home with 2-leggers. So, please, won't you give me a chance at a wonderful life? I know my babies will get great homes, and I would like one too. In return, I will love you forever!
Adoption application, home visit and adoption fee required. If you would like to apply for adoption, please complete the online application at www.furryfriendsnetwork.com

This cutie is David. David was one of two dogs pulled on their last day at a high kill shelter. David is being fostered in Maryland. He is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative. He is estimated to be about 18mos to 24mos old. He is so soft, you just want to melt into his fur. He is a heinz 57, he resembles a med/long haired spaniel mix, but then he has these St. Bernard eyes, and well the list goes on!

David is doing great in his foster home! Please email Michelle and Kaitlin for more information and more pictures.

Petey is in Baltimore, MD.
**PETEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED, CONGRATULATIONS DAVID AND YVONNE!****
Petey is a 6-month-old pit bull mix. He's a lovey-dovey little guy who loves to lean on you and give you gentle little kisses. He's good with both dogs and cats, and he is a very mellow, fun-loving pup. Petey was found as a stray and lived in a foster home for a month. He still needs to learn some basic manners and needs work on his housebreaking, but he's crate trained and a quick study--turning this guy into the dog of your dreams should be a snap! For more information, please email Erin, erin.s@verizon.net

Roxy is in New Jersey!

OK OK, im a little late, but Roxy's foster family decided to keep her! Yeah!!!

Roxy is a big, beautiful female American Bulldog, about five years old. She was left behind at the SPCA by her family, and the staff thought she deserved a second chance at a good life, so they contacted us. She is a special dog who, once she bonds with her people, is very loyal, loving, and protective. She would like a quiet home with an owner who understands the bully breeds and can be patient with her while she settles into a new place. She enjoys the company of other dogs and enjoys licking the cats in her foster home till they are sopping wet! Roxy is a good girl, and if you'd like more information on her, please email Michelle at guardianambull@aol.com

I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES! Linah has just been adopted! Thank you to Linah's Forever Mommy in PA!
I can even visit because Linah will only be about 25 minutes from me! YIPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Linah
English Bulldog MixLinah is White with a black nose & Stunning Blue Eyes! Linah's Kill Date was 6/26. She just arrived yesterday, 7/18 & she is a real doll! Her pictures do not do her justice....I believe her to actually be an "Olde English Bulldogge" which is a rare breed...her tail is also docked. I have never seen such a unique looking doogie kid in my life...she looks like she's straight out of Star Wars & related to Yoda. :) Linah is with us in Blairstown, NJ. Her evaluation will take at least 2 weeks. Linah is app. 16 inches at the shoulder & weighs 48 lbs...vet wants her to gain about 10 lbs. Linah will be adopted to a home that is within a 2 to 3 hour driving distance of Blairstown, NJ...I do my best to do my own homechecks & transportation for my fur-kids. She is Micro-Chipped/has her own crate/leash & collar/food & water bowl/six month heartworm preventative/ asking $250.00 adoption fee for Linah.
UPDATE 8/20/2004
Linah will only go to an experienced canine owner:
10/15
Linah is coming along nicely I am very glad to share. She seems okay with cats... just very curious & wags her short little tail. She ADORES people! She is okay with with other canines that are not dominant.
In order to assure the best home for her I believe she should be the only canine & no small children as she does jump up & she is a powerhouse.

This pet is: up to date with routine shots, already house trained, altered

**SWEETIE**
The Itty Bitty Pitty:
GREAT NEWS... ADOPTED!!!!!!!!!!

SWEETIE is in
Blairstown, NJ I-80; Exit 12 in Northwestern, NJ. Susan at nwnj_1@yahoo.com, nwnj_1@hotmail.com
There's nothing that saddens us more or angers us more than when we learn about an innocent animal being horribly treated. So you can only imagine how we felt upon hearing Sweetie's story. When the police were called in and found her, she had been being used as pitbull bait and was a mass of skin, bones and bites. They didn't know how she survived as long as she did. The police had no choice but to bring her to a kill shelter where dogs who have been victimized like this rarely got a chance at getting out. But when a volunteer for the shelter looked at the frightened little staffie, she realized there was something special about this one. Maybe it was the hope in her eyes when she looked over at her, or the way she wagged her tail when she came close, or the kisses she gave her when the volunteer extended her hand to her. So at the last minute, instead of being given a death sentence, a rescue group was called in, and she was given a foster home instead. Her foster mom let her name herself, "Sweetie", and now our little angel is learning what it's like to be loved and cared for... perhaps the first time in her life. Her foster mom says that she is wonderful with people but due to her horrendous past, would probably do best in a home where she could be the only pet. At 38 lbs, this 2 year old Sweetie is spayed, has had all her shots and is in the best of health, mentally as well as physically. If you would like to continue to brighten this beautiful dogs life knowing her favorite thing to do is important... Her favorite thing to do is to be held. Sweetie is very, very quiet. She is crate trained & will go potty in her potty pan in her crate... which I might add she is sooooo proud of herself for using her potty pan!... so she would be great for a working person in an apartment/condo/townhouse, etc. The type of home I would like to see her go to is where she will be treated like a baby with unconditional love, patience & consistency...something I suspect she has never known before coming to stay at our home in Blairstown, NJ. When her ears are up she reminds me of Alf with short hair. :) If you believe you are the one that will give Sweetie the kind of forever home she has never known ... PLEASE contact me. References & a Home visit a must... you must also live within 60 miles driving distance of Blairstown, NJ as I do my own home visits... bringing her with me on the visit. : ) Sweetie is also microchipped, up to date on shots & spayed Please e-mail me for more pictures.

Kenyan has been adopted!Kenyan
Kenyan is located in Maryland!
Kenyan is not an EBBRR dog. He is listed as a courtesy for his rescuer, Sarah. This is what Sarah has to say about Kenyan. He is a very nice dog, loves to give kisses and lay next to you on the bed. He loves to play with other dogs and with stuffed toys. He also loves to chew on nylabones and sticks. He is a bit shy and so it takes him a little while to trust you, but once he does, he will be your constant companion. I am planning on taking him to training to get him more socialized. He is taking to potty training very well and has not had any accidents recently. He is also crate trained and very good on a leash. He does not do well with cats, and he should not be placed with cats, but he absolutely loves our three dogs. Also, because he is going to be large and doesn't yet know how to play with small children, he should be placed in a home with adults or adults and older children (over 12 years of age). Kenyan will only be placed in a home with another female dog or as the only pet and must be in MD, DC, or VA. For more information on Kenyan, please e-mail Sarah at sjirousekw@aol.com or call 301-313-0647. Serious inquires only please.

SARGE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!Sarge is in Baltimore, MD
Sarge is a 2.5 year old male English Bulldog. His owner is moving and cannot take Sarge with him. He is as cute as can be, Tan and White, with a HUGE head!! He is your typical bully being stubborn and always by your side like your second shadow. He is housebroken, crate trained, Up to date on Vaccines, Heartworm Negative and on prevention, microchipped and Neutered. Sarge likes to be in charge so a home with no other pets is a must. There are some dogs he likes and others he doesn't. He has a high prey drive and will chase anything small and furry or feathered. He must be the only pet. Sarge has been good with children but will only go to a home with adults due to his size and strength. He is 65 pounds of pure muscle. He requires an owner who will make sure he knows that he is not the boss and the humans are. He is your typical toddler and will try to get away with what he can. He is a fast learner and responds well to positive reinforcement but does require a strong owner. He will do anything for a treat! He is not a big kisser but once he gets to know you he will snuggle and show his true bully personality, wiggle butt and all! We are looking for a home that will allow him to be not just a pet but a part of the family. He would like to sit on the couch with you and watch Monday night football. He wants to sleep in bed with you, don't worry, he wont wake in the morning until your ready to get up. If he has to go out for a quick morning potty break he is quite content with getting right back in bed, especially on those chilly mornings. He is protective of his home/yard and family., he will let you know if someone is on your property! She is spayed and up to date on shots, heartworm negative and in good health. She gets along fine with other animals and would be fine with children. Rookie
Rookie is located in Maryland! 11/04 Rookie has been adopted! 12/04
Rookie is about 8-9 weeks old (10/22/04). He was found as a stray and taken to the police department. They didn't want to send him to Animal Control for fear that this cuite pie wouldn't make it out and to a responsible home. I know its not the best picture but this little ball of fire wouldn't sit still long enough for a good picture! He is so cute with a white body and black brindle patches over each eye. He loves to give kisses and follow you around from room to room! He is a great snuggle bug! He is working on housebreaking but being so young it will take some time, he is crate trained! He is good with other dogs and very curious about cats. I would prefer a home where he is either the only pet or in a home with another female dog, no exceptions! He has had his first set of vaccines and will be neutered prior to adoption. Adoption application, Home Visit, and adoption contract and fee applies. Must be at least 25 to adopt and live in the MD/VA/DE/PA/NJ area. For more information on Rookie, please e-mail Jayme at JNR57@aol.com . Serious inquires only please

AMMY IN PHILLY NEEDS A HOME NOW!

Ammy is a brindle Cane Corso puppy with a docked tail who was found in Phildelphia by a couple who saw her tossed out of a car by her former "owners." She is being fostered in Philadelphia, and she's in need of a home of her own. Her foster dad says this about her:

My girlfriend witnessed a man push her out of a car into a parkinglot and then he tore off. She called animal control and the spca but no body showed. The pup ended up setting up shop at one end of the parking lot which was litterally yards away from busy train tracks and just a bit a ways from a busy street. The pup was there for 2 days and i tried for a few hours each day to coax her out. Even with police help and lots of food we couldnt do it. Finally late on the second night the scared little girl came close enough to me and let me put the collar and leash on her.

Shes a really sweet girl and gets along great with my 2 1/2 yr old male pitbull, rodney. but if shes not playing all she wants to do is lay with you and be pet. She is definitely a puppy who doesnt like to let you out of her sight. Im working on getting her crate trained. Shes pretty much house trained with only a few mistakes and could use some more work with that.

It hasnt taken her long to come out of her shell. She was really scared of every body when i first had her now shes gaining confidence. How ever when she does feel threatened she will bark. She will not act aggressively but only bark. im working on that one. Even the people she barks at are able to pet her in minutes. She does really well on the leash and listens really well, but she is a pup and could use some more leash work.

Over all she is a cute sweet loving little girl that craves your attention and is very attentive. She is really smart which makes training easy. I think this little girl has a lot of potential in the right home.

Ammy is not an EBBRR dog, she is a private rescue. For more information on Ammy, please e-mail Damien at damien@rodneythepitbull.com

Fidget is a great little girl that desperately needs a home of her own. She is wonderful with people but may not be perfect for a home with small kids. When she came in she was named Bridget but is now more often know is Fidget. She is a high energy little girl who needs room to run. She would be a perfect dog for running with or to do agility work with. She would be fine with older kids who she can not knock over. When she is let out of her run at the shelter she just leaps around like a loon with her tail going a mile a minute. She has been at the shelter for months now and desperately needs out. She has been heart worm tested and vaccinated. She will be spayed before she goes to her new home. Please come down and meet this sweet girl. She deserves a chance. All she wants to do is play and be your best friend. For more information on Bridget please email geophagus1@aol.com.

Thank you to Bridget's new mom and dad for rescuing such a wonderful girl. Bridget finally has the home she deserves!

Visit Frankie on our blog!

Please read all of Frankie's bio before sending an email:

Where do I start with Frankie - he's perfect! This 4.5 year old boy is house broken, crate trained, and knows basic obedience commands. He is an active boy when outside but also LOVES to curl up to you on the couch or in bed. He is very relaxed when in the house and wants nothing more than to be with his people. He loves to play fetch or just run in the field. He enjoys going for hikes in the woods and in a very independent dog, not needy at all. He is good with other dogs as long as they do not challenge him but prefers people over other animals - he even ignores cats even when they try to swipe at him! He has been good with kids but we request no small children only because of his size (he has been around small children but doesn't realize he is 70 pounds and can bump into them and knock them over). We are requiring a fenced in yard for him because he likes to run so much - he deserves it.

Frank cam to our rescue when he was 8 weeks old and was adopted when he was 9 weeks old and has had the same owner ever since. He has moved to California and back and enjoyed ever minute of it! His owner recently had a baby and doesn't feel she has the time to devote to Frankie anymore so he is back with us. He listens better than some of my own dogs (on and off leash) and will follow you from room to room. This boy has been nothing but faithful and deserves a home that will keep him until his last days!

If interested in Frankie, or for more information on him, please email Jayme at RobertsRescue@aol.com

He is up to date on vaccines, heatworm negative and on prevention, and neutered. He did test postitive for lymes disease but has already finished his treatment and is doing well (he wasn't even showing signs of lymes disease) Recently (Sunday 3/2) Frankie injured his right hind leg while running. He partially tore his cruciate ligament or ACL, radiographs were taken and he is scheduled for surgery on 3/11. He is expected to make a full recovery and this will not be a problem for his future. He will have to rest for a few months while recovering (which basically means no free running) but will be back to his normal self in no time. Please do not let this be a factor in adopting Frank, if you would like to visit please let me know - once you meet this boy you will fall in love - EVERYONE does!!

UPDATE 3/11/08

Frankie had his TTA surgery today to correct his torn ACL ligament and did great. He will be recovering for a few weeks and is not allowed to free run for a few months but is still in high spirits and wagging his tail! He is still available for adoption at any time so please feel free to contact if you would like more information or have questions about this fabulous boy! This boy needs a foster home or better yet a forever home ASAP. Due to lack of foster homes he is being boarded at a vet clinic. More pictures and updates coming.

ZOE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!

Meet Zoe from Maryland!!!

Zoe is a beautiful little red nose Pit bull. She is approximately 18 weeks old (3/8/05). She loves to play and she is such the snuggle bug. She is almost completely house broken and she is crate trained. She loves car rides and to be held like a baby. She is getting spayed the week of 3/14/05. I can not say enough good things about this little girl. She will only be placed as an only dog. She seems to be pretty dominant with other dogs, but she does play well as long as there are no chew bones involved. She is perfect with people. She is not food aggressive at all. Please contact Denise or Jayme if you would like to adopt this little angel!
– She is located in Maryland and we would prefer her to stay with in the state. .

This is an **URGENT** Courtesy Post... this poor Old English Bulldogge has not been evaluated by the EBBRR.
Located in Jersey City, NJ

If you are the person who can help this dog, please contact Niki at NDawson03@aol.com.

The Liberty Animal Shelter is located at 235 Jersey City Boulevard, (Exit 14C off the NJ Turnpike, across from Liberty Science Center parking lot entrance) Jersey City, NJ. Time is of the essence!

Even putting aside the name, "Pimp My Ride" has obviously had a hard life. Someone tied him up at another local shelter, but he made his way to the Liberty Animal Shelter in Jersey City, NJ, where he's been since then. Pimp is actually an Old English Bulldogge, not a a common breed in our area. He has some scarring on his muzzle and his elbows are badly calloused. He also has some significant wearing on his teeth, all of which points to a lonely life living in someone's yard before they abandoned him. Despite his intimidating physical appearance, Pimp is really a sweetheart. He loves to be petted and takes treats from your hand like an absolute gentleman. This poor guy has been through so much that he really deserves a nice warm home and loving family to live out the rest of his days.

If you can give this dog the loving home he needs, please contact Niki
at: NDawson03@aol.com.

He is currently living with 2 children one is disabled and unable to walk. She sometimes crawls on the floor and buddy is fine with her crawling.
Buddy is a super sweet boy looking for a super sweet home.

NYC: This is a courtesy posting Elsie has not been evaluated by the EBBRR.

ELSIE 11months old and just ADORABLE!

When she was just a baby of 8 months, she was rescued from the euthanasia line at the CACC ( NEW YORK) by a wonderful rescue worker.

She is currently in foster care in New York (City area).

To say this little girl is a gem is an understatement!

She is friendly with other dogs, as she goes to doggie day-care twice and week and romps with her canine friends.

Elsie even knows how to behave in an elevator.

When Elsie gets in the elevator she loves to meet people who are getting on.

She even patiently sits while the people coming in pet her on the head.

She is 45lbs and will probably grow to about 50lbs when full grown (she's almost there).

She is spayed, vaccinated.

She is full of life and energy! She would make a FANTASTIC companion for someone.

She appears to be some sort of American Bulldog mix and she has stunning markings.

Elsie enjoys playing and doling out lots of love to people- and knows how to have a good time socializing with other canines.

This means that Elsie can be considered as an additional dog to a household with dogs already. J

Are you looking for a best friend to while away the hours with ? Do you already have a terrific canine in your life and want another wonderful one to join the mix?

Then Elsie may be your girl!

If you would like to know more about adopting Elsie, please contact:

Jake is in Maryland

Jake is a sweet 5-month-old pit bull puppy who was found wandering stray by a Baltimore woman. She took him in, helped him put on a little weight, and contacted EBBRR for help finding him the perfect forever home. Jake is a small boy at 26 pounds, up to date on all his shots, and he will be neutered before he can be adopted out.

Jake is a sweet pup who loves everyone he meets. He has a very loving and calm demeanor, though he is a pup and he likes to play. He's living with other dogs at the moment in his foster home, but the resident male is not fond of him, so he's in need of a new foster or forever home ASAP!

If you would like more information about Jake, please email Michelle at guardianambull@aol.com or Erin at erin.s@verizon.net.

~Jesse~
This lil' stud is Jesse. (The dog, not the cute kid!) We had helpers when we took our photos, these two are soooo cute together! Jesse is an 8 week old (7/23/05) pit bull puppy. He came from North Carolina along with 3 littermates and Sadie the mother of the other 10 pups that were listed on the home page. We don't know much about these pups, they were saved by Katie in NC. She still has their momma, who was very thing and needed lots of TLC. We hope to bring momma to Maryland when we get the room too. We are learning more about Jesse and will update the site soon. He still needs to be nuetered and will be available after his vetting is complete.

Please email Michelle at Guardianambull@aol.com if interested.

~Joey~

Joey isn't so tiny anymore. Joey is a handsome chocolate brindle, pit mix puppy.(darker then this pic) He is now 20 weeks old, as of 10/04/2005. Joey is fostered in Balimore, Maryland. He is doing very well, and is a very quiet puppy. He rarely barks, and only when his brat of a sister gets him started. :) Joey has a sense of humor, he likes to make me laugh. Joey has a toilet paper fetish, so keep it out his way! Joey is food aggressive, he does not like other dogs anywhere near him when he is eating his food or treats. He does get along with other dogs at this time, but I don't think he will be as accepting of other dogs as an adult. We prefer him to be an only dog or matched with a female. Joey is up to date on shots, wormed and nuetered. He is ready for a new home. His adoption fee is $200.00. More pics available!

Please email Michelle at Guardianambull@aol.com if interested.

ADOPTION PENDING: THANK YOU MEREDITH!!!My name is XENA of Blairstown, NJYou would have to see Xena in person to appreciate her coat colors. She actually has stripes of coloring... she reminds me of a tiger. Xena was found in the middle of a field with a chain wrapped around her neck & staked into the ground where she was left to slowly starve to death. Despite all of the neglect that she has endured in her young life she is still a wiggle butt. Cats are a no, no for her because they are fun to vigorously chase. She is very, very quiet as I have not heard her bark, yet. The vet said she is probably still just under a year. She is Micro-chipped, wormed, on heart-worm preventive, UTD on shots, crate trained & spayed. Won't you please give this loving baby a chance at a real home of her own? She loves to snuggle in bed! PLEASE, PLEASE open your heart & your home to her.
If you know you can provide me with the kind of forever home I need please take a look at me... my foster mom will drive me as long as you are within 60 miles of Blairstown, NJ

Jade is a courtesy post, please see contact info below.

Hi Michelle,
Jade is a year old lab/pit female. I got her out of the King William Co. shelter in Virginia, do I only know she was found at the local dump with a collar and baling twine, no ID. She has had all her shots, is H/W negative, and I have just gotten her spayed. She is good with people and loves to play, very energetic so would benefit from long walks or ideally, a fenced in back yard. She is 38 lbs.

She has interest in my barn cats, but I can call her off of them if she starts to chase them. She loves to play with my other dogs, but will defend herself if she is ganged up on. I let her out with only one dog at a time to see how she handles it. She is still quite a puppy, and my other dogs are older, so they lose patience with her and her insistent, playful ways. She should probably be an only dog, or go with a young and playful dog.

She is crate-trained, comes when she is called and sits at my feet on command. She is a total love bug, and only wants to be played with. She will amuse herself for hours with her toys in my fenced back yard, while I do my barn chores. She knows when I should be done, and waits patiently at the gate for me.

She is very smart, but also very sensitive. A firm but gentle NO stops her from jumping up on me. Praise for her usual good behavior makes her smile all the time.

I think God sent this dog to me to watch over until she gets her forever home. It was so weird what drove me to pursue the rescue of this particular dog, and I believe she will return the favor for some very lucky human.

She is very special. Let me know if you need more info. I have only done minimal temperament testing. She is not a food guarder, seems to like kids (have not tried toddlers banging on her head or back yet!!).

Please contact Edie if interested in Jade.

Sebastion needs a home in Maryland!

Sebastion is a 9 month old, nuetered and up to date Boxer/pit bull mix. He was the victim of a busy household. Sebastion was crated for approx 14 hours a day, and eventually they decided they could not care for him any longer. Sebastion is being fostered by a great family, but he needs his own home soon.

Sebastion needs work on obedience and manners. He is very much a puppy still, and needs someone that can excercise him and keep him stimulated.

Please contact me if you would like to adopt Sebastian.

Orphan Annie is being fostered in New Jersey!
She was scheduled to be PTS on Jan. 30.After making frantic phone calls and sending crazy emails I finally reached the shelter manager and was told she was given a stay of execution. That Thursday she was sent to the Vet for an ultrasound to see if she was pregnant or not.She was also given her Rabies vaccination,de-wormed and given an antibiotic shot for her staph infection. That same day somebody at the Vet's office accidentally loaded her onto the transport van that was headed to New Jersey. That Saturday morning at 8:00 am I received a frantic phone call from a volunteer(who arranged for her to be pulled and 3 other dogs from that shelter) that Orphan Annie was on the van, there were no rescue pre-arranged to take her nor were there any foster homes.I couldn't let them take her back to South Carolina to be PTS after beating her 1st scheduled execution on Monday. So,I took her in.She was a walking skeleton of a dog, missing fur, frightened, dirty and definitely very hungry and thirsty. She never complained once while I bathed her, clipped her nails and cleaned her ears that first day.She has gained most of her weight back. Her fur is growing back and she is a happy well rounded sweet young pit bull. She is house broken, loves to snuggle on the sofa or in bed at night and will do anything for belly rubs. She walks very nicely on a leash and loves to play with my 3yo male AmBull/AmStaff "Jazzyboy".She is not agressive at all with food or toys.We haven't really met any neighborhood dogs yet.I don't want her to get sick since she has not been vaccinated yet and she is just getting over a bad bout of kennel cough. She's quite content to just be a love-bug couch potato. She also moans very loudly as you pet her when snuggling. All in all I have never met such an abused, neglected dog that has not lost faith in humans. She just craves human attention and has been a joy from the get go.

Please email us if you are interested in meeting Orphan Annie. She is currently being fostered in New Jersey.

FOUND: A LOVING, RESPONSIBLE, EDUCATED FOREVER HOME

This bull terrier mix is available! Dutchess is a bull terrier mix. She will be one year old in September, 2006. She is current on all her shots and has been spayed. She is a very sweet young lady waiting for a home of her own. She has yet to be introduced to the dogs in her foster home but has had no reactions to meeting them through the fence. We feel she will be okay with other dogs as long as there is a slow and deliberate introduction. She loves to walk and she loves to play with her toys. She would be a great agility dog. She loves to zoom all over the yard. If you are interested in learning more about Dutchess and about our adoption process ; please contact Michelle with Blue Ridge Bull Terrier Club at bullygirl@adelphia.net

Please meet Yuki, formally known as Punch from myspace! Wait, wait, wait....he has another name......ASH!!

Update! Punch met his new foster family on Christmas Eve, and things went great! His new family plans on adopting him and things have been going very smoothly! Here is his new picture opening up his Xmas presents!
Hey guys,

So here’s an “after” photo of the white pit bull that was found in Hampden with a huge abscess on his face yesterday. He doesn’t look so hot, but that’s because Dr. T had to put a drain in his face so the wound will heal properly. Yuck. Dr. T temporarily named him “Punch” because he thinks someone punched him or hit him or kicked him in the side of the head, caused some kind of injury in the dog’s face, and it abscessed.

EBBRR is claiming him and we’ll place him and get him neutered when he’s healthy, etc. But to be honest, we’re tapped out and this dog’s bill ($213 so far) has put us over our credit limit at the vet’s office again. We just paid some of it down, too, but somehow sick dogs just keep finding their way to us!

If anyone who wanted to help Punch can help us out with even a small donation to his care, we’d be incredibly grateful. I’m sure we can recoup some of his vet fees when he’s adopted out, but in the meantime we’re hurting. Even if a few people donated $5 or $10 it’d be ridiculously appreciated.

Any donations can be made to Michelle’s PayPal account at Guardianambull@aol.com or of course could be paid directly into the EBBRR account at Dr. T’s office, Light Street Animal Hospital, 1601 Light St., Baltimore, MD 21230. (410) 547-8385.

Thanks to everyone who cared about this dog and tried to help him. Hopefully after he gets some quiet healing time in his foster home, we’ll find him a home that’ll appreciate him! He sure is cute! And very soft and cuddly, too.

Erin

This pup for you! Baby is located at the Baltimore County Humane Society.

I came here with my companions, Buddy and Rabbit, after we were seized from a neglectful home in Columbia, SC last summer. Our previous owner is being prosecuted for animal cruelty. I'm a very friendly and sweet girl! I need a home without cats or other dogs, although I might be okay with a submissive male dog. If there are any kids in my new family, they should be age 10 and up. If you think I could be the one for you, please contact the shelter!

B-More In Control, is scheduled to take place on September 27 at The MD SPCA, 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD (410-235-8826)We’re very excited to present this class, which we hope will provide inexperienced or struggling dog owners with some tools to make their lives easier. We’ll be covering a lot of ground in this class, including proper health care, feeding, and shelter of animals, basic dog body language, simple and basic training techniques as demonstrated by a pit bull friendly trainer, and the importance of keeping your dog in control at all times–particularly if your dog is of a breed that’s unfairly maligned by society.

Come to this class, and spread the word!

Mica is available in Maryland!

Here is what Mica's rescuer, Maddy has to say about her! Mica is nearly a year old APBT. She was found wandering the streets of Baltimore in bad condition. Efforts to find her owners were unsuccessful.

I've been fostering Mica for a couple months now. She is a great little dog with much drive and spunk. She is incredibly smart and will work for anything so long as its food-dry kibble will have her doing back flips for you! She is very human motivated, and very concerned about what her human thinks of her. She wants to please so badly!

Mica is spayed and up to date on shots. She has a mild heart murmur which will most likely cause her no trouble. She is 41 pounds. She has displayed some allergies to beef. Mica is great with new people she is meeting in her own home, though bashful with strangers outside of the house. She is still learning that the outside world isn't such a scary place, and a little bit of hot dog on walks is helping her learn this. Mica loves all people and with a gentle and strong hand she will blossom into a confident dog.

Mica is house trained and crate trained. She does not chew so long as she as appropriate toys are provided. She has also learned that baby gates are boundaries to be obeyed. She knows basic commands and is a good listener, though does need some work on leash walking (she's not a big puller, but she only has two speeds-fast walk and stop). She has a huge potential in obedience. Mica is always thinking outside the box to work for you. Just the other day I had her lay down and when I called her to me, she crawled across the floor on her belly because she didn't want to break her down!

Mica would do best as an only dog. She has little personal boundaries with other dogs and will most definitely NOT back down from a scuffle. She is excellent with cats she knows, though she does have prey drive and would probably chase a cat a yard.

Please email Michelle if you would like to learn more about Mica.
Update 2/26/2011 Mica was evaluated by Aja Harris of Mutt Magic Saturday. Mica is very food motivated and should be very easy to train. We are looking for someone with previous dog experience, not necessarily pit bull experience to become Mica's new family!

TT and Annie are available now in the Baltimore area!
Here is a little bit about TT(Two Toes) and Annie. I hope we can find them a good
home, preferably together. They deserve it.

TT and Annie are two adorable kittens approximately 3-4 months old who were
abandoned at birth. I think the mother might have been run off by the
apartment management and they did not see the kittens. They have had all of
their shots and have been spayed. They are due for booster shots shortly.

TT and Annie are the best of friends. They are almost identical and up
until recently when TT got a little bigger than Annie, the only way I could
tell them apart was TT's extra thumb she has on her left paw. They are both
adorable, inquisitive, healthy kittens that love to give kisses. TT likes
eyelashes and loves to lick mine if I let her. When they get up in the
morning they love to be held and loved with kisses and scratches. Annie has
an especially loud purr that you can hear a mile away and feel vibrating in
her throat. TT loves to have her tummy and chest scratched. They are both
becoming adapted to being around my big dog and are not afraid of her, so a
friendly dog would probably not be out of the question. They love playing
together and have so much fun being with one another but when they are
relaxing, they will lay very comfortably dozing in the crook of my stretched
out legs as we all lay in my bed. They love human attention and TT
especially will meow when she wants my attention. They also love laying in
the screened in open windows laying in the sun and make sure they let me
know when I forget to open the window for them in the morning. They will
paw at the shade trying to get it open until I open it for them. They are
very smart little kitties.
